Well. That was more than a bit of a faff.

Helena built a rocket – of course she did, in hindsight – and that wasn’t even the real problem. The real problem was that Mr. Crowley, apparently more mad than anyone had given him credit for, had stolen the horn in the first place, thinking it would serve well as a power source and he could then use the rocket to terrorise the Regents into staying in Britain.

David doesn’t see that working very well, personally; if anything, he suspects Mr. Crowley’s plan reaching a success would have only convinced the Regents to move sooner, and he doesn’t want to know what the next plan would have been. Better for everyone that they can’t find out now.

As he and Helena make their way back to the Warehouse, he says, “Were you really going to get inside that craft and ride it to the stars?”
